GUEST SPEAKER GUIDELINES

Thank you for agreeing to serve as a “guest speaker” for an upcoming Owensboro Rotary Club meeting.

Our weekly lunch meeting is held at the Owensboro Country Club at 400 E. Byers Ave, Owensboro, KY (270-683-6265). The meeting begins at 12:00 PM and concludes at 1:00 PM.  You are our guest – so when you get to the check-in table, please don’t pay!

The business portion of the meeting usually begins at 12:20 PM, with the guest speaker generally being introduced at about 12:30 PM. Please allow 15-20 minutes of presentation, and a few minutes for Q&A at the end.

To help you prepare your presentation, here are a few guidelines/tips:

• There are typically 30 members, including visiting Rotarians and guests in attendance.
• Presentations should be non-political and non-sectarian.
• Presenters may not solicit a financial or in-kind donation or request purchase of products or services. It is okay for you to talk about your business/organization and its services. It is NOT okay to make a “sales pitch” or directly solicit purchases or donations. You are more than welcome to invite interested members to stay after the meeting to talk with you.
• Handouts for club members and guests are welcome.
• The club does not have audio-visual technology of its own, but presenters occasionally use laptops of their own.  Please let us know if you have specific needs.
